In this role, you will perform essential engineering functions including:

    • Design and develop electrical power service and distribution systems, branch circuits, indoor/outdoor lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, low‑voltage infrastructure, audio/visual systems, and specialty electrical/control systems required to produce detailed construction documents (drawings and specifications).
    • Advise clients on electrical system options to meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
    • Serve as the electrical design lead, providing direction to Drafters/Designers and Apprentice‑level Engineers to meet deadlines and project expectations.
    • Conduct field inspections to validate existing site conditions and establish project requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with internal and external design teams to ensure seamless project coordination.
    • Resolve complex engineering challenges with minimal oversight during both design and construction phases.
    • Guide construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of the full design intent.
    • Perform project management tasks related to the electrical discipline, including budget review, schedule updates, and developing project communication protocols, standards, and documentation.

    Required Capabilities & Credentials

    • B.S.E.E. from an accredited university or equivalent experience required; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
    • 7+ years of electrical engineering design experience—preferably involving building power, lighting, and systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
    • Hands-on experience with equipment selection and systems troubleshooting.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, NFPA standards, and the National Electric Code (NEC).
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Word).
    • Experience using Bluebeam and industry tools such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower.
    • Ability to read and interpret both 2D and 3D drawings accurately.
