    Position Summary

    The MEP Superintendent is responsible for leading all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) systems delivery within large-scale commercial and institutional construction projects. This role combines deep technical knowledge with project execution leadership, ensuring that MEPF systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned according to performance, safety, and quality standards.

    This position is a key part of the Facility Solutions team, overseeing MEPF coordination, commissioning, and integration with building systems. The MEP Superintendent partners closely with construction, commissioning, and facility management teams to ensure project readiness and operational excellence.

    Essential Duties

    · Serve as the primary MEPF field leader, coordinating trade partners through planning, inspections, and commissioning testing.

    · Manage all aspects of MEPF and building controls testing, leveraging standard procedures, tools, and equipment.

    · Lead teams in the delivery of Operational Project Readiness (OPR) and Commissioning Management (CxM) across multiple concurrent projects.

    · Review design drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure constructability, functionality, and compliance with project requirements.

    · Develop commissioning and execution plans tailored to project scope and client objectives.

    · Create and maintain detailed Cx schedules aligned with CPM milestones in P6 or MS Project.

    · Define testing and certification protocols for each equipment type using commissioning software systems.

    · Oversee Cx progress tracking and visual management tools to monitor project readiness.

    · Lead project commissioning meetings to communicate sequencing, progress, and resolution of outstanding issues.

    · Document MEPF system inspections, tests, and issue resolutions throughout the startup and turnover process.

    · Direct and manage Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning activities in partnership with project teams.

    · Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards in all MEPF construction and startup phases.

    · Collaborate with construction superintendents and project managers to maintain integration between building systems and overall project schedule.

    · Support training and development of MEPF team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

    Required Qualifications

    · Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial construction with an MEPF contractor, general contractor, or commissioning agency.

    · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or equivalent relevant experience.

    · Proven expertise in managing complex MEPF installations, commissioning, and building controls integration.

    · Experience in P6 and/or Microsoft Project for schedule planning and execution.

    · Strong working knowledge of facility operations and building systems.

    · Ability to recognize, troubleshoot, and document facility issues through all project stages.

    · Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, SharePoint) and Adobe Cloud.

    · Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting, client presentations, and documentation.

    · Ability to interpret technical drawings and financial data related to project performance.

    · Valid driver's license required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Experience in critical facilities such as hospitals, airports, data centers, or laboratories.

    · LEED, DBIA, or other professional certification credentials.

    · Proven success leading commissioning and systems integration in large-scale or design-build environments.

    · Strong grasp of sustainability principles, building automation, and operational efficiency optimization.
