SRE Engineering, D.P.C., a certified M/WBE and DBE engineering and construction management firm, is seeking an MEP Superintendent to provide field-level oversight of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction on NYC Health + Hospitals capital projects.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site field supervision of all MEP installations across assigned healthcare construction projects

Monitor MEP contractor performance, schedule compliance, and quality of workmanship

Coordinate planned shutdowns, utility tie-ins, and system cutovers with active hospital facility operations

Verify all MEP work is installed per approved submittals, shop drawings, and contract documents

Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce compliance with OSHA and facility safety protocols

Maintain detailed daily MEP field logs and report findings to the MEP Project Manager

Assist with MEP systems testing, balancing, and commissioning activities

Identify and report non-conforming MEP work and coordinate corrective actions with contractors

Qualifications

10+ years of MEP construction supervision or field management experience

Healthcare facility construction experience strongly preferred; occupied building experience required

Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems in institutional settings

Familiarity with NYC building codes, DOB inspection requirements, and Joint Commission standards

Experience coordinating MEP work in active, occupied healthcare environments (ICRA/ILSM protocols a plus)

Strong written and verbal communication skills for daily reporting and contractor coordination

Proficiency in Procore, Kahua, or equivalent CM software a plus
