    POSITION OVERVIEW

    MERS/Goodwill Sheltered Workshop (SEED) is looking for an intergenic individual with an entry level Administrative Assistant background to support our operation assisting individuals with barriers as they navigate employment in a sheltered environment. This support will be both administrative and as a production assistant. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the administrative and clerical support of the Rehab office, and for the cultivation of cordial and productive relationships with staff, employees, and volunteers.  We are looking for someone who is confident, caring and able to carry out duties such as: maintaining files, sending and receiving correspondence, ordering supplies, work closely with participants, and displays and demonstrates a professional attitude. This individual should have a working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Work, Outlook, etc. This position will be provided you the opportunity for continued growth in the administrative field while gaining a greater knowledge of MERS/Goodwill and a sheltered environment.  Must follow all agency policies and procedures.

    ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    • Prepare and submit payroll for staff and clients
    • Act as receptionist for clients and visitors 
    • Prepare and keep current list of clients assigned to workshop
    • Prepares monthly bills and reports 
    • Attend all staff meetings
    • Order supplies when requested by the supervisor.
    • Prepare and keep all records for Federal, State, and Community agencies
    • Assist supervisors and provide support to other departments as needed
    • Take clients to waiting area for Call-A-Ride and other assisted transportation services 
    • Keep accurate attendance records

    Qualifications

    _A. Knowledge and Abilities: _

    • Knowledge of personal computer and software packages
    • Organizational skills and ability to manage time schedule
    • Flexibility needed to manage changes in work assignments and variety of duties required

     

    _B. Education and Experience _

    • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration preferred with 2-3 years related training in an accredited business school preferred 
    • Must have excellent PC Skills with extensive knowledge of all office software 
    • Must type 65 wpm
    • Excellent supervisory and communication skills
