Please Do Not Contact The Office Directly. ONLY APPLY VIA THIS JOB POST ----- We are a fast-growing divorce and family law firm in Northern NJ looking for an Exceptional and SEASONED matrimonial Attorney to join our team to help prevent legal and parental injustice! We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic advocate who does not work by the clock. You can write a motion or legal brief with flair and clarity, you can develop legal case strategies and legal theories with no supervision, and you can relate and explain complicated laws to the client (and your staff) with ease and grace. Also, for the most part, opposing counsel or experts who know you, respect your legal abilities and you can get along with 99.9% of those you encounter. If you are someone who takes pride in your work for your own benefit (but also understands the firm wants to look good too), has personal and professional integrity, and is willing to work until the job is done, including weekends and working nights when necessary, then you might be the right fit! It might very well be that you are currently in a role that is just "okay"; it might be that you have your own law firm (or thought about it) but don't love the day-to-day management of law practice. It might be that you are simply bored with your current circumstances-- or maybe you are yearning for some independence and autonomy in your area of expertise! Well, we are glad you are reading this because someone like you aligns with our mission; we built our law firm around helping people move forward to where they want to be. We help find the opportunities that are all wrapped up in what looks like a problem. We can also help you get where you want to be. We have top-notch support and an administrative team in place to make sure you are never alone, and you are not bound by time-consuming admin work. With us, all you have to focus on is handling the clients and providing outstanding client service along with your legal brilliance! We want to help the right person to reclaim (or continue to have) work/life balance. We want to help you continue to feel passionate about the law and helping people find a better life and situation. We want to help you continue to be a great lawyer who also knows you can never stop learning and improving your skills. We also want someone who will join us in geeking out on CLEs and other professional development experiences. If any of the following statements appeal to you, then you may be a good fit: • You exude empathy, but you can and will be assertive when the situation calls for it • You are thorough and don't like leaving things up to chance • You understand that the court rules exist to be followed but can find creative arguments in any case law • You enjoy the feeling of asserting a persuasive argument • You can bill at least 30+ hours a week • You like to produce thorough work and analytics, leaving nothing to chance • You want to work at a firm that is flexible about when you should work and is set up with cloud-based systems to enable you to work from either the office or remotely, depending on your preference and other time commitments • You are very good with technology, and if not running towards it, at least understand you must embrace it. You are familiar with electronic calendars, e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, internet research, iPads, etc. • You are a well-respected advocate w/ a high level of personal and professional integrity & ethics • You do not think any task is “beneath you" if it gets the job done • You want to be a valued member of our team and be acknowledged for the same • You want to and can build positive and collaborative relationships internally and externally • You can achieve goals consistently and efficiently • You think in terms of outlines, chronologies, and indexes • You see an opportunity for clarification and organization where other people see a mess • You are an amazing and creative writer with a sickening degree of attention to detail • You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly • You practice specifically family law because you just "get it" • You pride yourself on high-quality work • You want to practice law in a supportive and friendly work environment that will consider your personal, professional, and financial goals • You can communicate with clients and staff clearly and timely and exceed expectations in providing client service Origination of cases is not required at all, although not discouraged.
