Do you value process and procedure? Is the idea of joining a growing business enticing to you? If so, you might be our next Billing Coordinator! This role is IN HOUSE in Hackensack, NJ. Our divorce and family law firm seeks an energetic, resourceful, and VERY detail-oriented billing coordinator for a full-time employment opportunity. This position is responsible for implementing the firm’s billing activities and executing all aspects of the billing process. As a critical team member, you will work with all departments and leverage your excellent communication and follow-up skills to ensure a flawless billing experience for the law firm and the clients. Responsibilities: The successful candidate should have excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel are also required. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a law firm or other professional services environment. • Manage the firm’s billing process, including retainer and replenishment procedures, and accounts receivable collections • Prepare, review, analyze, audit, and revise pre-bills in detail to ensure accuracy • Prepare monthly invoices and send them per the firm’s policies and procedures • Manage and reduce the firm’s accounts receivable balance • Respond to and manage billing questions and concerns from clients • Make collections calls to clients and manage delinquent accounts • Manage retainer accounts and request replenishments as needed • Assist with chargebacks and refunds • Take client payments, including credit card payments • Deposit checks at the bank in a timely manner • Coordinate and communicate daily with the firm owner on the status of client trust balances Qualifications: Must be computer savvy as we are a modern and tech-geeky law firm! So, you must have a decent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Outlook. • Law firm experience required • Experience with practice management software is a plus, but not required • Must be a team player with a positive attitude • Must be a people person • Must be good with numbers and processes • Must be proactive, resourceful & forward thinking • Must be EXTREMELY detailed oriented • Must have a good memory • Must be articulate and have effective communication, written and oral • Must be okay to have uncomfortable conversations • Must have the ability to tactfully handle emotional situations • Must not take things personally • Must think on your feet • College degree is not required but preferred Compensation: $40,000 -$50,000 Total Comp and DOE
