    SUMMARY OF ROLE:

    The Inventory Control Specialist supports the Supply Chain department. Accountable for maintaining inventory levels of ready for sale products at optimal levels based on sales forecasts and lean manufacturing principles. They are responsible for maintaining the workflow and prioritization of goods to be produced for sale based on the Kanban system and FIFO production schedule. They also assist in maintaining inventory levels of components and packaging used to produce finished goods, keeping the Supply Chain team updated with regular audits and alerts of low-supply items. They coordinate closely with Formulation, Production, Distribution and Supply Chain.

    The Inventory Control Specialist reports to the Supply Chain Manager.




    **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, but other duties may be assigned): **

    Inventory Tracking/Auditing of Raw Materials, hardware, packaging, finished goods, and office/admin supplies.

    • Daily audit of all inventories

    • Alert Supply Chain team of any components/packaging getting low to ensure that new supplies are being brought in and to coordinate timing.

    • List any components/packaging that are getting low in the forward location that have a reserve/backstock location and can be infilled

    • Coordinate to have supplies moved to forward location (involves forklifting from the quarantine room, unloading pallets or repalletizing items to be stored again) and put away correctly.

    • Inspect discontinued strains to make sure that we don't order too much formulated oil for strains dying out and to keep sales/lab up to date on life of strains.

    • Check for any label errors, packaging problems, and miscounts in the process

    • Move the product into its appropriate place in the pick locations with its Kanban card.

    Formulation Planning:

    • Assist the lab formulation team on which products and quantities to formulate into bulk batches for later production into finished goods.

    • Verify previous day's formulations were completed and ready for filling.

    • Audit ready for sale products to determine the strains that have fallen below par levels and need to be ordered for new formulation, including product lines that need a minimum of one week for test results before being produced.

    • Coordinate with Distribution leads to determine any urgently needed products for orders (outside of normal production plan)

    • Coordinate with Production Manager to set the production schedule for the current day, ensuring that all planned production and WIP (work in progress) from previous day is put into the current day's production schedule.

    • Coordinate with the Supply Chain team if any components are unavailable for new production.

    • Update physical Kanban board to reflect the new production schedule (FIFO lane)

    • Update digital Kanban board to match the physical board.

    • Perform “production runs” in Cultivera to make formulated oil into finished goods.

    SOS System

    • Create builds in SOS for terp blends and formulated oil.

    • Create new products in SOS and the master list.

    • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the inventory system.

    • Ensure that quantities in Cultivera are reflected in SOS.

    • Intake raw materials for WA and AZ (terpenes)

    • Create orders and outbound shipments.

    • Process wholesale orders in SOS and Cultivera

    Quality Assurance

    • Monitor intake of packaging and hardware and report quality issues to supervisors
    • Assist with biomass qualification program.
    • Prepare samples, monitor compliance system, ensure accuracy of results, and coordinate with testing labs to organize pickups/deliveries.
    • Accurately document tests sent, and results received.

    Organization

    • Maintain cleanliness in the cage and other FG storage locations, applying 5S principles.

    • Consolidate product in the cage to free up space for new production.

    • Remove any empty bins, condense, and rotate to infill and free up larger containers for that day's production.

    • Ensure correct labeling and allocation of products.

    • Shift and rearrange the pick locations to fit new strains in a cohesive and logical manner.

    • Create and maintain the correct labels for each area and product.

    Defective Products

    • Sort and verify all defects collected from the distribution department.
    • Log reworked products and return to inventory.
    • Log defective products and remove them from inventory in Cultivera and SOS and send them to the lab for reclaim or disposal.
    • Maintain accuracy of inventory allocated to the “Wall”.

    Audit inventory levels for admin and production supplies

    • Coordinate with Inventory Control Specialist (Procurement) to have new supplies ordered as needed.

    Distribution of IQC Samples

    • Assign and convert all inventory quality control samples in Cultivera, print labels, and then pick all items from cage and sticker them appropriately.
    • Monitor that the samples are distributed accurately.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school degree or GED.
    • 1+ years of previous work in a warehouse and/or conducting inventory.
    • Familiarity with cannabis is advantageous.
    • At least 21 years old.
    • Forklift certified or willing to obtain.
    • Food handler certification required.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
    • Able to communication clearly verbally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of inventory control best practices and procedures is preferred.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
    • Adaptability and an appetite for innovation and change.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This role will involve work in a cannabis production environment. Physical demands include sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, grasping, hand dexterity, and a willingness to adapt to changing work environments. **
