    JOB SUMMARY

    The A/R lead will be responsible for various tasks within the Accounting/Finance Department with specific focus on all facets of the Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency. Responsible for overseeing the entire Accounts Receivable process of collecting payments from our customers and leading a team of A/R and billing clerks. This position requires a positive attitude, flexibility and enthusiasm.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Management of the daily Accounts Receivable (AIR) functions.
    • Support accounts receivable and billing clerks daily and train new team members.
    • Develop an organizational structure that will efficiently manage the processing of invoices.
    • Ensure timely collection of payments.
    • Assist in month end closing.
    • Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with the law.
    • Perform special projects and collect and compile statistical and financial data for specialreports, as directed.
    • Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting department's goals.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with all company, department and safety policies and procedures, regulations, and laws.
    • A strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and standards.
    • Knowledge of ability to place a high emphasis and maintain controls surrounding financial reporting as pertains to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
    • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
    • Must have knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an office environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
    • Proficient in l O­key by touch, Viewpoint experience a plus.
    • Must have excellent customer service skills, excellent listening skills, team management and negotiation skills, effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have superior organizational skills. Ability to follow directions and work harmoniously with other employees.
    • Must exhibit excellent analytical and time management skills.
    • Strong mathematical skills are also a requirement.
    • Must be detail oriented and accurate, with an ability to adapt to a busy work environment.
    • The AIR lead must be flexible and have great enthusiasm.
    • Must be able to problem-solve and multi-task.
    • Must have the ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
    • Must have the ability to understand, follow and transmit written and verbal instructions.
    • Must manage time effectively to accomplish work assignments and projects.
    • Deal successfully with external and internal customers; respond tactfully, clearly, concisely, and courteously to issues, concerns, and needs.
    • Maintain a positive attitude at all times, including adverse situations and be a positive influence within and out the Company.
    • Required: Minimum of 5 years’ experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
    • Must have proven work experience as a lead or supervisor.

    EDUCATION

    • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED
    • DESIRED: Degree in Accounting or Finance
