Primary Responsibility
The Marketing and Communications Liaison extends the MIBOR brand experience to membership by building and supporting connections between division membership and MIBOR associates. This is achieved through continuous engagement and providing relevant information to division leadership to provide their members. This position requires a strong understanding of marketing, communications, and leadership development.
Teamwork and leadership are expected in this role, as this position interacts with each area of the organization and members of the communications team. This includes developing MIBOR Division leadership, Division Liaison program, MIBOR’s young professionals’ group NextGen, and monitoring and promoting division-specific activity.
Specific Responsibilities
- Work with staff liaisons to enhance MIBOR’s reputation by continually exploring opportunities to add value and meet the needs of each division
- Promote and maintain MIBOR’s culture, values, and reputation throughout the divisions and with all staff, members, suppliers, and industry partners
- Act as a direct point of contact for division liaisons and division leaders
- Design and generate effective reports for tracking and utilizing member data
- Develop, review, and report on annual goals for division participation
- Maintain an accurate division leadership records and attendance database
- Manage quarterly division leadership meetings and the annual summit
- Organize and distribute monthly division talking points
- Support the continuous improvement of the MIBOR member journey and communication touchpoints
- Construct engaging experiences in collaboration with the MIBOR NextGen committee to help identify and cultivate leadership in MIBOR’s NextGen
- Partner with the marketing communications team to drive campaigns and initiatives
- Partner with the membership team to drive engagement with the professional community
- Provide and maintain data for monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, establishing and maintaining professional networks, participating in professional organizations
- Additional duties or responsibilities, as assigned
Background and Competencies
- Marketing, Communications, or Business Development experience in a membership environment is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and presentation skills
- Sound understanding of trends and innovation in engagement (digital, analytics etc.)
- Demonstrated success in setting and achieving sales goals by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, gaining the cooperation of others, monitoring progress, problem-solving, and adjusting plans as necessary
- Team-oriented and ability to develop positive working relationships
- Professional and customer service-oriented individual with uncompromising ethics
- Strong computer skills required – intermediate or better knowledge of office software including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Database utilization experience and high comfort with mobile applications are preferred.
- College Degree or equivalent education in marketing, communications, or business development concentration
- Industry and market knowledge is preferred
