A material handling and warehouse storage solutions company in the Kansas City, MO metro is hiring a full-time MIG Welder to join its production team. The MIG Welder will perform gas metal arc welding (GMAW) / MIG welding on steel and other metals using semi-automatic MIG welding equipment in a covered shop environment. This is a first-shift, on-site position with voluntary overtime available.

Key Responsibilities - MIG Welder
- Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment to join, fabricate, and repair metal components per blueprints and work orders
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols to determine material type, joint configuration, and weld specifications
- Prepare metal surfaces by grinding, cleaning, clamping, and aligning parts prior to welding using hand tools and fixtures
- Inspect completed welds visually and with measuring instruments to verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specifications
- Follow all safety protocols including proper use of PPE such as welding hood, gloves, steel-toe boots, and safety glasses
Qualifications - MIG Welder
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols
- Proficiency operating MIG welding machines on carbon steel; stainless steel or aluminum experience is a plus
- Must pass a MIG weld test during the hiring process
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications - GMAW Fabrication Welder
- AWS Certified Welder credential or equivalent welding certification
- Experience with flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding positions
- Familiarity with grinding, cutting, and fitting tools including plasma cutters, angle grinders, and tape measures
- Prior experience working with jigs, fixtures, and welding positioners
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations for welding environments
Physical Requirements - MIG Welder
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours per shift on a concrete surface
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
- Work in a covered environment that is not climate controlled; exposure to heat, cold, fumes, and noise is expected depending on season
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and gripping
- Use of required PPE for the full duration of each shift
