Our firm is looking to hire an experienced litigation paralegal to work closely with our managing attorney. The ideal applicant has at least 2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably focused on the plaintiff's personal injury. The individual must be intelligent, reliable, hardworking, dedicated, able to work independently, a quick learner, and have strong communication skills. Must write and speak English fluently and be computer literate. Spanish speaking is a plus. Hours of work: Full-time position: Monday to Friday at the office. Salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities: • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers • Organize our case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits • Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions • Drafting legal documents including Motions, Bills of Particulars, Discovery Responses and Demands, etc. • Communication with clients • Communication with insurance carriers • Communication with medical providers • Assisting attorney with motion and trial preparation Qualifications: • Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred • Talented communicator and writer • Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills • 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting Compensation: $55,000
