    Summary:

    Masterplan is actively seeking an experienced, decisive, competitive, self-motivated applicant to serve as a Consultant to work in its collaborative, progressive, and inclusive workplace.     Requirements And Responsibilities:

    • Planners relentlessly pursuing personal, professional, and team excellence should apply.
    • The candidate will have responsibility for multiple, complex zoning projects in a fast-paced environment and find creative planning solutions, resulting in municipal approvals--often in the face of significant opposition.
    • Ability to prioritize and complete projects on time and on budget while maintaining details is essential.
    • Candidates shall have expertise in performing special planning studies, interpretation of local zoning, subdivision, and other land use ordinances; comprehensive and small area plan development; zoning, subdivision and other ordinance work; and other related work as required.
    • Prepares draft ordinances, conducts research, maintains project records and files.
    • Experience working in Economic Development is required.
    • Strong written and presentational skills are highly desirable.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in real estate, urban planning, architecture, engineering, political science, geography, related field, or proven results.

    • Minimum three years of experience in urban planning, urban design, real estate development, construction, or related field.

    • Project management experience.

    • Understanding of the rules and procedures of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

    • Keen understanding of the development process, including an understanding of jurisdictional bureaucratic processes.

    • Ability to read and understand complex zoning codes, general plans, specific plans, surveys, site plans, and technical reports.

    • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
      Proficiency in Word and Excel (Bluebeam, Sketch-Up, ArcGIS, InDesign, and Illustrator are pluses)

    • Related professional certification(s), such as AICP, CNU-A, RAS, LEED, MBA, MA encouraged, but not required.

    • Operate and have reliable transportation.

    Location:

    This position is in-person and will be located at either the Masterplan HQ in downtown Dallas, or the Forth Worth office.

    Customer Service:

    Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high-volume production environment. Maintains the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude either verbally or written communication.

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical Demands:

    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time in-person position, and the hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; as needed for community meetings in the evening.

    Travel:

    Travel to client site or municipal agency as expected for this position. Associate may be required to attend meetings at the discretion of management and/or if it is project related.
