    IDEAL CANDIDATE LIVES IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY Area THE HOURLY RATE IS $40/HR. EVENTS ARE TYPICALLY 3 HOURS LONG AND TAKE PLACE FRIDAY 4PM-7PM, SATURDAY 1PM-4PM, 5PM-8PM. MUST BE 21 YRS OR OLDER. SPIRIT, BEER OR WINE KNOWLEDGE +++

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Zacapa Mentors are Rum enthusiasts that can educate consumers on the Zacapa portfolio during off premise liquor events.  They must be able to deliver a unique sampling experience, and help consumers make educated, informed brand decisions.  They are expected to interact and actively engage consumers at the point of purchase and experience, with the end goal of reinforcing and/or increasing brand awareness.

    Mentors must adhere to MKTG Policies & Procedures, in addition to completing and passing all required trainings & exams pertaining to our client brands.  Educators must also be also to successfully showcase their knowledge on the brands by preparing a 2-3 min presentation that is meant to take a consumer through the history & heritage of the brand, distillation process and highlight additional brand information.

     Being hired as a Mentor does not guarantee that he/she will be assigned to any particular quantity of assignments. Mentor must sign-off on all required forms and must adhere to all MKTG Policies & Procedures and the NA Diageo Marketing Code.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Possess a passion for the beer industry that allows for authentic and personalized consumer experiences with Zacapa
    • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Zacapa, including its history, heritage and portfolio of products
    • Industry knowledgeable on trends, competitors, marketplace, news, etc. Study and self-educate through internal and external resources (manuals, articles, online, etc.) to refresh and keep up with the changing industry landscape
    • Attend all relevant market brand and program trainings (when invited by event team)
    • Actively engage consumers, drive trial, conversion, and sales
    • Educate consumers on featured Diageo brands with the ability to cross-promote and upsell when appropriate
    • Ability to conduct tastings for consumers (where legal and within local legal limitations and as per policy)
    • Ability to assist in training internal staff
    • Follow Responsible Server Guidelines and report Guideline violations
    • Understand and comply with state sampling regulations
    • Pick up or accept delivery of event materials from Event Team
    • Arrive to events on time, in appropriate uniform/attire as specified by Event Team, and be prepared to execute events as outlined
    • Merchandise accounts with Zacapa point-of-sale (POS)
    • Ensure proper care and return of company property (e.g. uniforms, event materials, etc)
    • Capture data from events and provide insightful feedback on post-event recaps (ERF)
    • Take great digital event photos
    • Report on competitive activity in market and industry trends

    MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

    • Reports into Market Manager / Market Associate

    PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
    • Able to carry heavy trays, boxes, kegs, objects
    • Able to maintain a pleasant disposition and demeanor under stress
    • Pleasant/engaging speaking voice and mannerisms
    • As otherwise established by client request
