SUMMARY

The Buyer is responsible for identifying and procuring the products and services needed to successfully obtain the sales goals set within Planet 13. The Buyer is responsible for identifying the external material needs of Planet 13, finding vendors who can supply these needs, negotiating for prices, then arranging the purchase and delivery. The Buyer is also responsible for building relationships and being the direct contact while arranging services from vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work with other departments of Planet 13 to forecast the demand of products and will also evaluate inventory levels in reflection to store sales.
• Responsible for replenishing products in high demand and identifying products with low demand and communicate purchases to other departments.
• Continuously researching the market for new products, vendors and market average prices.
• Analyzing the success rate of each product, the margins, and adjusting accordingly.
• Maintain and build relationships with vendors on business needs and scheduling services needed from the vendors.
• Negotiate directly with vendors to get the best possible pricing and payment options based on the company’s needs.
• Evaluate cost and quality of the product, compared to the cost and quality available among the market.
• Provide cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services.
• Daily compliance with cannabis policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedules

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to possess a marijuana agent card and be 21 years of age or older.
