    Job Description

    6 MONTHS CONTRACT

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Lien Specialist is responsible for conducting construction project research, verification and delivering exceptional service as it pertains to the preliminary notice and mechanic's lien process. This position also communicates regularly with internal colleagues and ensures prompt and accurate completion of work.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

    • Contribute to and follow standard operating procedures and guidelines.
    • Closely follow all state lien law requirements.
    • Conduct web-based research via County assessor/Recorder & State websites; Google & GIS county mapping.
    • Educate colleagues & customers on basic mechanic's lien & bond claim statutes.
    • Enter all pertinent project data into lien tracking platform (NCS).
    • Track and manage preliminary notice deadlines.
    • Work with Sales/Branch Management to gather all required project and owner information.
    • Notify Collections, Sales and Management of upcoming lien deadlines Filing liens as needed according to contract specifications.
    • Prepare lien waivers.
    • Produce high quality output.
    • Provide prompt & extraordinary customer service.
    • Contribute ideas to workflow & follow standard operating procedures/guidelines.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Exceptionally organized & detail oriented.
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor, attitude and work habits with co-workers and clients.
    • Ability to multi-task & prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
    • Communicate and collaborate effectively.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS: 

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • In office environment.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Associate degree or equivalent experience; Paralegal or bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Construction lien laws nationwide is a plus.
    • Knowledge of lien tracking platforms is a plus.
