Momentum is looking for highly motivated and compassionate individuals to provide direct support to children with developmental and/or social and emotional needs. The Personal Assistance Services and Supports (PASS) program assists children in gaining the skills necessary to increase their independence, thus opening up their world to participate fully in the community. The three domains the are focused on include Activities of Daily Living, Social Skills and Safety Skills.
Responsibilities:
PASS worker will assist the child in learning skills, accessing the community, and building interpersonal skills.
Attend scheduled shifts pertaining to your client (hours are flexible and based on family need but generally are afternoons, early evenings and/or weekends
Teach the child skills within the community that relate to the three domains listed in the service plan: Age appropriate safety skills, social skills and activities of daily living
Child can range anywhere from 6 years old - 21 years old
Qualifications:
Over 18 years of age
Have obtained high school diploma or equivalent
Have valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and registration, no history of DWI, a year free of vehicle accidents
Undergo background check for the state of RI (BCI)
Highly prefer candidate who has experience working with children with disabilities
