    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

    The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will direct and oversee our Sales and Marketing department focused on B2C direct sales, channel sales, and marketing with a focus on digital marketing. You will plan, develop, and establish policies and objectives of marketing in accordance with objectives of the organization. You are responsible for leading the Sales & Marketing teams, guiding day-to-day strategy and execution, and working closely with all departments to build a seamless customer experience.  You will be responsible for the ROI of the annual sales and marketing budgets.  The primary objectives will be to accelerate the growth of sales and market share in the consumer retail energy category, as well as build new inbound and outbound channels at an efficient scale and predictable ROI. You will play a significant role shaping the company’s strategic planning. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that the Sales and Marketing department’s activities contribute to our company’s near-term growth and financial objectives, and our long-term success.

    This initial role focuses on leading the launch of a consumer home energy business with a focus on Texas. The rapidly evolving retail energy market is a natural place for Shell to expand its business. We aim to grow our customer base by offering an attractive range of products and a real alternative to other companies in the sector.

     

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Develop, plan, and implement the organizations sales and marketing strategy for the mass market segment to grow customer count and market share
    • Align the organization’s sales and marketing strategies with the company’s business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning and Sales & Marketing strategy development, forecasting, resource planning, and budgeting
    • Develop new sales channels, strategic partnerships, and affinity marketing programs
    • Lead and guide campaign tactics that include digital marketing, SEM and display marketing, content social media marketing, lead management & conversion optimization, and media relations
    • Optimize Mass Market customer sales & marketing strategy, maximizing customer growth and profitability and managing customer churn
    • Work closely with the Customer Experience, Product & Service Management, and Operations teams to develop and maintain marketing and communications that develop the company’s thought leadership and maintains trust with customers
    • Monitor and track sales funnel performance, channel performance, and marketing campaign performance, work towards continuous improvement and growing market share
    • Maintain a dashboard of KPIs visible to the business and demonstrate how marketing initiatives are
    • Prioritize marketing projects and allocate resources accordingly
    • Participate and collaborate across the local, regional, and global organizations to develop broader strategies, linkages, best practices, etc.
    • Accountable for adhering to regulatory requirements, reporting, and compliance policies
    • Responsible for hiring and performance management of staff within the Sales & Marketing department

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Commercial professional with 10+ years’ experience in retail energy and/or home energy products and services
    • 10+ years’ experience in sales and marketing
    • Experience in B2C markets
    • Proven track record of scaling customer accounts
    • Proven ability to lead cross-business and functional projects in uncertain environments
    • Prior management of sales and marketing teams and budgets in a performance-based environment
    • Proven accountability for revenue growth, new market penetration and associated KPIs
    • Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing, MBA highly preferred
    • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
    • A strategic thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced, always-on environment
    • Strong, data-driven problem resolution skills, including the ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
