    JOB OVERVIEW

    The strong Sales & Category Analyst will be the data and analytics expert for clients, responsible for reporting and category storytelling to drive the Grocery Channel business forward through data-driven decisions. Key to this role will be the ability to deliver best-in-class insights, presentations, and category/marketplace assessments to support client and internal sales analytical needs and to translate those insights into strategies and actions.

    They will provide direct support and recommendations to teams through sales analysis, trend analysis, general reporting, insight generation, category dynamics, and consumer behavior from a variety of different data points. They will also serve as an analytic and category management expert using the category management process as a decision platform for all initiatives designed to optimize category performance at the customer(s) and channel. A successful candidate must be a self-motivated team player and demonstrate a relentless curiosity and a sense of urgency.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • •Develop and manage monthly category dashboards with recaps of where customers and clients should action
    • •Weekly POS & inventory reporting (where applicable)
    • •Leverage multiple syndicated and retailer data sources to develop category & shopper insights with recommendations
    • •Tailor national category stories and category vision to specific customers based on customer/shopper insights
    • •Bring a category voice perspective to customer conversations, line reviews, and strategic sales plans
    • •Identify category trends, fair share, opportunity gaps, and share of wallet and leakage opportunities
    • •Perform competitive analysis by category to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges to core business areas
    • •Support Account Managers to drive business growth via sales storytelling, forecasting, promotional ROI and 4Ps analysis (price, promotion, assortment/product, place/distribution, and efficiencies
    • •Assist in requests by senior management for information/presentations to support strategy, drive sales, and execution of the category vision
    • •Educate the customer and sales team on insights best practices, including category stories that influence customers to act

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

    • •4-year degree preferred
    • •5+ years of Sales Analytics and/or Category Management experience with direct experience with syndicated sales/consumer data systems ie: NielsenIQ, IRI/Circana, Numerator, and retailer systems i.e. Dunnhumby, Kroger 84.51/Market 6, etc.
    • •Effective and efficient project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, & keep projects moving
    • •Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • •Knowledge of consumer products industry & category, brand, & retail strategies
    • •Ability to listen, understand, & resolve competing priorities
