    Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer in Training (EIT/EI) to support the bridge design team in our Omaha, NE office. The position will focus on design calculations and plan production of roadway bridge projects. Other job responsibilities include structural site investigations. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow as a professional while working in a spirited team environment.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Operate with a high level of independence, confidence, and organization enhanced by a strong work ethic.
    • Effective problem-solving skills and use of fundamental engineering principles.
    • Possess the ability to actively engage in a team environment.
    • Occasional travel to project sites will be required.
    • Perform structural design engineering calculations on bridge components, that include but are not limited to steel girders, prestressed concrete beams, concrete abutments & piers, and retaining walls, using standard techniques, codes, and procedures with guidance from experienced engineers.
    • Assist with plan production (CAD drawings), geometric layout and quantity development.
    • Develop design alternatives and recommendations to provide efficient options to our clients.
    • Support field investigations or assessments.
    • Possess proficient written and oral communication skills.

    Required Skills:

    • Inspired by and interested in structural bridge design.
    • Working knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office software, a variety of structural engineering analysis and design software, and MicroStation/AutoCAD

    • BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited college or university.
    • EIT Certification (i.e., passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam) or ability to obtain EIT certification within one year.
    • 0-2 years of relevant structural design experience.

    Annual Salary Range: $55,000 - $77,000
