Job Description
RADIATION MONITORING SYSTEMS (RMS) SALES ENGINEER responsible for sales, marketing, and customer service for the Americas, primarily the US and Canada.
- Establish, execute, maintain, and refine a sales strategy for the nuclear power plant (NPP) market in the US & Canada
- Identify the key customer accounts in each territory that provide the major percentage of sales.
- Develop customer relationships and become a trusted advisor.
- Collaborate with Detection & Measurement Division (DMD) sales organization in the US and Canada to develop business outside the traditional NPP market
- Collaborate with the local agents and the DMD VP of sales to develop and maintain a strategy for sales in South America (inside & outside of NPPs)
- Provide quotations and negotiate pricing with customers.
- Meet quarterly sales quotas as assigned.
- Advise division leader on sales policies and situations.
- Maintain opportunities current in Salesforce.
- Be able to competently demonstrate standard equipment and software.
- Give presentations and develop first level of product interest.
- Routinely communicate with established customers to identify any customer support issues, as well as technical support or spare parts opportunities.
- Be able to travel and meet with customers independently and on a regular basis.
- Provide prompt support to customer requests.
Requirements
- Demonstrated sales or technical expertise in the nuclear industry for a minimum of 8 years. Strong preference for experience in a commercial nuclear power plant (NPP), or NPP supplier.
- Must possess a minimum of three (3) year's sales experience.
- Must have a strong understanding of radiation detection fundamentals and the types of radiation detection equipment commonly in use. Must be able to review/ walk down a prospective customer’s existing system, determine the most suitable Mirion equivalent, evaluate the strengths and gaps, and work with the engineering team to develop a technical solution & proposal.
- Must have a strong understanding of the nuclear industry.
- Must know and be able to apply fundamental, technical sales skills.
- Must be familiar with the regulations and industry standards to which commercial nuclear power plants are licensed.
- Must be able to interpret and negotiation commercial terms & conditions for sale.
- Must identify, manage, and coordinate long term sales situations.
- Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Must be knowledgeable and capable of operating and demonstrating Mirion equipment.
- Must be able to function independently.
- Must be willing to travel, on average, 2-3 weeks per month
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. nuclear, mechanical, electrical), or a combination of Associate’s degree and relevant work experience. Nuclear Navy experience is favorable.
