Hours: 10 month employee, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A deep faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and acceptance of the authority of Scripture as a guide for faith and living
Understanding of and active support for The Christ School’s mission, vision, and defining characteristics
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
Proficiency in GoogleSuite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar)
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of and ability to deliver accommodations for students with learning differences
Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the job
Able to effectively traverse possibly uneven ground
Able to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs and transport about 10-15 pounds
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in education and at least 5 years of experience, preferably in an independent, Christian school.
High-Quality Instruction: Deliver engaging, research-based lessons aligned with The Christ School’s curriculum and standards. Incorporate effective literacy strategies that promote reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar mastery, and vocabulary development.
Student Engagement: Foster a collaborative, Christ-centered classroom culture that promotes curiosity, communication, creative problem solving, and critical thinking. Encourage students to take ownership of their learning through inquiry, discussion, and reflection.
Assessment and Evaluation: Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress. Provide meaningful verbal and written feedback to support academic growth and a love for learning.
Learning Environment: Establish and maintain clear procedures and expectations that promote respect, self-discipline, and responsibility. Create a nurturing and orderly environment that supports spiritual and academic development.
Model Christ-Centered Behavior: Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout instruction. Model integrity, humility, and compassion in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with middle school faculty and across disciplines to ensure curriculum alignment, share best practices, and support student success.
Parent Partnership: Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming projects. Build trusting relationships that support students’ academic and spiritual growth.
Professional Growth: Pursue continual professional development to enhance instructional practice and stay current on best practices in literacy education and adolescent development.
School Community Involvement: Participate in chapel, advisory programs, service opportunities, and other school events. Contribute to a joyful, Christ-centered school culture that reflects the mission of The Christ School.
