    This is a hybrid position, in which the successful candidate may work from home on most days while being available to support in-person events throughout Maryland. The applicant must be within 25 miles of Baltimore, Md., and capable of traveling to points across Maryland.

    The Section & Committee Coordinator reports to the Director of Membership Engagement, with added supervision and training from the Section Manager. Together, they make up the three-person MSBA Section Team, which is responsible for supporting the management of the Sections.

    Sections are groups of Maryland State Bar Association members who work in the same practice area or have similar professional interests. Committees are groups of members focused on a particular area of governance or policy making.

    Members of each Section and Committee volunteer to develop and manage meetings, events, webinars, content and other deliverables. These programmed activities typically involve advancing professional development, skills, and knowledge, as well as programs to benefit or serve the public.

    The successful candidate will use interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure MSBA volunteer-members deliver on their Section and Committee related commitments, while offering them suggestions, guidance, and support as needed.

    The successful candidate will work with content- and membership-management platforms, as well as online applications for emailing, polling, scheduling, and questionnaires.

    The successful candidate will attend and manage MSBA events in points across Maryland during regular daytime working hours, as well as during evening hours for evening events; evening availability is Monday-Thursday.

    Specific duties and responsibilities include:

    • Providing support with coordinating, planning and managing logistics for Section meetings, events, and webinars;
    • Creating event products on the MSBA website, and managing event registrations;
    • Collaborating with members of the Membership Team to maintain the membership database and support member inquiries, including questions about renewals, logging into the MSBA’s website suite, and updating email addresses and other member information;
    • Supporting Section leaders with budget inquiries;
    • Sending electronic communications to Section members and leaders;
    • Facilitating communications between Section members and the overall leadership of the MSBA;
    • Collecting and sharing constructive feedback;
    • Collaborating with members of other MSBA Teams, as needed
    • Maintaining an understanding of the Maryland State Bar Association brand standards and policy;
    • Facilitating staff involvement in Section events;
    • Attending MSBA events and discharging other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills:

    • Collaborative approach and the ability to receive constructive feedback in a positive manner;
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining deadlines;
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
    • Self-directed and self-motivated;
    • At least three (3) years of experience in a professional; legal setting preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Google Workspace;
    • Calendar management tools (Ex: Calendly);
    • Experience using Canva;
    • Experience using virtual collaboration tools, including Slack & Asana;
    • Experience with virtual meeting tools, including Google Meet & Zoom.
