Job Description
This is a hybrid position, in which the successful candidate may work from home on most days while being available to support in-person events throughout Maryland. The applicant must be within 25 miles of Baltimore, Md., and capable of traveling to points across Maryland.
The Section & Committee Coordinator reports to the Director of Membership Engagement, with added supervision and training from the Section Manager. Together, they make up the three-person MSBA Section Team, which is responsible for supporting the management of the Sections.
Sections are groups of Maryland State Bar Association members who work in the same practice area or have similar professional interests. Committees are groups of members focused on a particular area of governance or policy making.
Members of each Section and Committee volunteer to develop and manage meetings, events, webinars, content and other deliverables. These programmed activities typically involve advancing professional development, skills, and knowledge, as well as programs to benefit or serve the public.
The successful candidate will use interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure MSBA volunteer-members deliver on their Section and Committee related commitments, while offering them suggestions, guidance, and support as needed.
The successful candidate will work with content- and membership-management platforms, as well as online applications for emailing, polling, scheduling, and questionnaires.
The successful candidate will attend and manage MSBA events in points across Maryland during regular daytime working hours, as well as during evening hours for evening events; evening availability is Monday-Thursday.
