    Job Description MSLGROUP is currently seeking an Account Supervisor with an expertise in earned media relations, storytelling and account management. The position is in our New York or Chicago office Consumer practice. As part of our dynamic team, the Account Supervisor will focus on high-profile consumer brands including KitchenAid and Campbell’s.

    The ideal candidate should have significant experience in securing earned media coverage across a variety of verticals as well as strategy development and cross-agency integration to support programs for leading companies. The candidate is a true team player with ability to move projects effectively, on time, and with excellence.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead development of innovative, results-oriented, earned media-led campaigns that spark editor interest and drive business results
    • Staying current with the latest developments in consumer trends, affiliate programs and newsroom best practices; proactively integrate and advocate new reporting technologies and opportunities for PR attribution
    • Agile and collaborative working style - demonstrated ability to work against tight timelines and part of cross-discipline agency and client teams
    • Develop and support earned-related influencer and celebrity campaigns
    • Prepare and present PR strategies (both earned and influencer) and briefs to internal teams and clients
    • Lead large scale activations and product launches with the goal of securing impactful headlines and stories for clients
    • Build strong relationships with editors across national, regional and local/trade publications spanning a wide variety of verticals include home/design, culinary/food, general consumer news, men’s/women’s interest, e-commerce, art/fashion and more
    • Develop and manage budgets across brands and ensure that billing is accurate and on time
    • Foster positive relationships with clients becoming a trusted day-to-day contact
    • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and utilize analytic tools to effectively track and measure success of activations, as well as inform strategic optimization recommendations in real time
    • Effectively present data-based results, leveraging successes to build further work
    • Outline, write, edit and proofread PR materials including press materials, media lists, pitches, media strategies, client presentations, memos/one pagers and more
    • Establish and evolve best practices across earned-led campaigns and teams; support earned media skill building of teams

    Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • 6+ years previous experience and a B.A. in Public Relations, Communications or a related discipline;
    • Deep understanding of earned media and how it relates/influences owned, paid and influencer efforts across brands and campaigns
    • Must be a self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple hot projects and take initiative, sometimes with little guidance
    • Experience working with the news media to pitch and secure impactful, in-depth stories.
    • Proven experience in leading teams to execute client programs with a blend of strong time management, leadership, team building, mentoring and client relation skills
    • Proven experience working in tandem with other creative agencies to develop comprehensive campaigns;
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as an ability to develop and present compelling client proposals
