Position : MUMPS Developer

Employment Type: Full-time

We’re looking for a skilled MUMPS Developer with at least 5 years of experience to join our team and contribute to a high-impact project for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This is an exciting opportunity to work on a meaningful project that supports the well-being of veterans.

Preferred Qualifications:

• VA Clearance or eligibility for VA clearance is a significant plus.
• Experience with VA healthcare systems or similar government projects.
• Knowledge of related technologies and programming languages

Key Responsibilities:

• MUMPS Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance MUMPS-based applications, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability
• Profile Application Development: Design, implement, and customize Profile Applications to meet the requirements of Dept of VA clients, leveraging MUMPS/PSL and related technologies
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of MUMPS-based applications and Profile Applications to identify and address any defects or issues, ensuring high-quality deliverables
• Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and system diagrams, to support development efforts and facilitate knowledge transfer
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of applications.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and VA security protocols.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with MUMPS (MUMPS Universal Medical Programming System) and its associated tools and technologies.
• Strong proficiency in programming and debugging within MUMPS environments.
• Familiarity with VA systems or experience working with federal or government agencies is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of database management and software development lifecycle.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and team members.
