Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Telecommunications Tower Technician II to join our team. As a Tower Technician II, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication towers and associated equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, as well as the ability to work at heights and adhere to safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, inspect, and maintain telecommunication towers, antennas, and associated equipment in accordance with industry standards and safety guidelines.

2. Conduct inspections and assessments of tower structures to identify any defects or potential hazards.

3. Perform general maintenance and repairs on tower equipment, including radio transmitters, fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, and power systems.

4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tower equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

5. Conduct tests and measurements to verify proper functioning of tower equipment, including signal strength, line loss, and power levels.

6. Collaborate with team members and clients to develop and implement effective solutions for tower installations, upgrades, and modifications.

7. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles required for tower installation and maintenance.

8. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and repair reports.

9. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for self and others.

10. Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices, attending training and certification programs as required.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or related field is preferred.

2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a Tower Technician, with a focus on tower installation, maintenance, and repair.

3. Extensive knowledge of tower equipment, including antennas, radios, coaxial cables, fiber optic cables, and power systems.

4. Proficient in using hand and power tools required for tower installation and maintenance.

5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans.

6. Strong understanding of safety protocols and practices when working at heights and in potentially hazardous environments.

7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.

8. Good physical stamina and dexterity, with the ability to climb towers, lift heavy equipment, and work in various weather conditions.

9. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and clients.

10. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different work sites as required.
