Headquartered in the heart of Austin, Texas, MVP is the emerging standard global brands use to value their sports and entertainment sponsorships and understand who engages with, or purchases, their products. Nearly 100 Brands, media, and sports organizations around the world use MVP as the standard for benchmarking sponsorship performance, understanding audiences, and deciding where and how to campaigns.
The Frontend Engineer role is a full-time position focused on building brand new UI elements and views. There is additional opportunity to work on API’s and ETL with NodeJS. The developer will work with a small, highly focused, and collaborative team to build tools and systems to enhance our core UI and provide unique insights for customers and stakeholders.
This role requires an advanced skill set across a variety of technologies. The individual will often have to learn independently and remain on the cusp of new technologies in the JavaScript space.
WHAT YOU MUST DO TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION:
- Write and review testable, scalable code by setting expectations and priorities throughout the development life cycle. Own technical design for projects of moderate complexity. Research and implement industry best-practices and trends to ensure the efficacy of architectural direction.
- Build modular, reusable software, with an eye toward future use, scalability, maintainability, and performance. Continuously work to bolster front end design and implementation processes to improve quality, efficiency, and predictability.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders to understand and drive business requirements and user experience goals. Maintain empathy with the end user, and use that empathy to guide decision-making.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WANT YOU TO HAVE:
- 3+ years of enterprise software development experience.
- ReactJS + Redux (2+ years experience).
- Strong understanding of JavaScript (3+ years experience).
- Strong CSS skills and familiarity with preprocessors (e.g. SASS).
- Web standards, HTML5 and CSS3.
- Building interactive UI’s for quantitative information is a BIG plus.
- Knowledge of functional programming patterns (or OOP with a desire to move to FP).
- Testing, including unit, integration, performance, and load testing.
- NodeJS is a plus.
- CI tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Circle CI, etc.)
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
