MW Partners is currently seeking an Accountant to work for our client who is a global leader in multimedia and creativity software products.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Intercompany contact for various other divisions of the Network, recording monthly transactions via journal entries, confirming balances, researching & coding charges, etc.
- Prepare monthly close journal entries, including but not limited to, reclasses, accruals, allocations, etc.
- Monitor the Sports production accounts for accuracy and adjust as needed.
- Help ensure timely submission of financial reports to Network consolidation team.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger account analyses.
- Assist with preparation of Sports union contributions.
- Assist with the annual tax package schedules for Sports.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting as necessary.
- Assist the Sports accounting teams in various projects as needed.
- Assist in fulfilling PwC audit requests.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (will accept Finance related degree)
- 2+ years of professional accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices
- Experience with general ledger functions; GAAP
- Solid organization and analytical skills
- Accuracy and high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook etc., advanced excel skills a plus
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines
- Experience with Oracle or SAP required (minimum of 6 months experience in the last 3 years), or other accounting system background; TM1 systems is preferred but not required
