  • Responsibilities

    Mylan Park has an immediate opening for a Coordinator – Events and Programs. The Coordinator - Events and Programs, is responsible for the oversight, scheduling and management of Park related events, rentals and programming.  This position oversees the scheduling of facilities, operations, and programming areas of the Park.  This position serves as the point of contact for all event organizers, and those interested in programming and rental opportunities.  Reports to the Director of Park Operations and liaises with the Mylan Park Board of Directors as appropriate.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Coordinates and manages event-related programs and rentals, including special events, leagues, classes, camps, clinics, etc. 
    • Provides direction for the most effective ways to market and promote the respective areas of the Park within oversight.  
    • Analyze respective operations to evaluate performance of the Park’s assets and its staff in order to meet objectives, and determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
    • Assist with the marketing, advertising, and outreach operations.
    • Collaborate with Director of Park Operations, Executive Director, Board, and staff members to implement major business initiatives, discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems.
    • Oversee policies and procedures development for all areas of responsibility.
    • Prepare regular written communication such as monthly and annual reports, financial and participation reports for respective responsibility area, and equipment inventory reports.
    • Serve as liaison between key stakeholders and outside organizations.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with facility users and other entities involved with Park operations.
    • Recruit, train, evaluate and lead a productive and effective team.
    • Evaluate performance and program effectiveness through regular assessment.
    • Build strong internal and external collaborations and partnerships.
    • Implement corrective action plans to solve organizational problems.
    • Participate with centralized strategic planning and initiatives for the Park.
    • Assist the Director of Park Operations and Executive Director with organization business and strategic planning initiatives.
    • Other duties as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
    • Two (2) years of programming experience preferred. 
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated experience organizing events, sports, recreation, camps and/or recreational sports and field operations.
    • Basic accounting knowledge; capability of understanding budgets.
    • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
    • Ability to write concise, logical reports.
    • Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports and parks.
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to work as part of, and lead a collaborative, professional team.
