    The Human Resources Intern is exposed to all the ways HR professionals support our diverse business through one on one mentoring with each specialist in our department and assisting them with daily processes. In addition, the Human Resources intern will be assigned a HR technology project as the primary objective of this learning experience.

    BRIEF TASK DESCRIPTION

    • Learn about MacDonald-Miller including company history, departments, industry terminology, etc.
    • Become knowledgeable of MacDonald-Miller's policies and procedures.
    • Partner with HR Coordinator, Benefits Specialist, Generalist, and Talent Acquisition Partner to understand each sector of responsibility.
    • Assist in providing service and support to employees.
    • Collaborate with HR Coordinator to learn current HR system information & functionality.
    • Develop a basic understanding of the various HR functions and requirements of each regarding the HCM project.
    • Learn and assist in the implementation, change management, training development, communications, and of an HCM solution.
    • Evaluate overall implementation, change management and user acceptance of new system into a report/presentation to be delivered to HR team & project leadership w/recommendations for additional opportunities and future functionality.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    The candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or other applicable field of study or student in their senior year pursuing a Business, Human Resources, or other applicable degree.
    • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and management at all levels.
    • Maintain department and employee confidentiality.
    • Possess strong organizational, analytical, prioritizing, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to accurately and calmly handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.
    • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office Products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Exceptional analytical skills and advance knowledge of Excel.
    • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere.
    • Take pride in one's work and accept a level of responsibility for his/her professionalism and accuracy.
    • Project a positive image of the company and herself/himself to customers.
    • Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines.
    • Takes initiative and identifies potential problems and solutions.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING REQUIREMENTS

    The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

    • Ability to see, hear well (either naturally or with correction) and speak clearly
    • Coordinate the movement of your eyes, hands, and fingers
    • Physical requirements include: bending, sitting, climbing, squatting and standing; driving
    • Frequent computer screen use
    • Lift up to fifty (50) pounds periodically during your shift
    • Must be capable of working extended hour days when job/business needs demand
