    JOB SUMMARY

    Set up and operate vertical milling machines, turret lathes, drill presses, saws, pedestal grinders, punch presses, and spring presses etc.

    GENERAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Ability to gain knowledge, understand ERP and Microsoft Outlook.

    • Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing machine shop environment.

    SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

    Following are some of the principal job functions, however, other duties and activities may be required in performance of this job:

    • Move machine controls to feed tools into workpiece and engage automatic feed.

    • Observe machine operation, and verify conformance to set specifications, using fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

    • May change worn cutting tools, using wrenches.

    • Move controls to adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut.

    • May perform minor assembly, such as fastening parts with nuts, bolts, and screws, using power tools and hand tools.

    • Setup and operate a turret lathe, mill, punch press, and spring press.

    • Operate a Sandblast Cabinet in a repetitive motion.

    • Perform Operator duties at various assigned work centers in support of production goals.

    • Maintain a clearly organized and clean workspace.

    • Work from part prints and process sheets to plan sequence of operations.

    • Select proper cutting tools, and other tooling.

    • Determine proper speeds and feeds and set machine accordingly.

    • Be able to make normal machine shop mathematical calculations and use shop tables and data.

    • Use precision measuring equipment and fixed and adjustable gauging equipment.

    • Load and unload machine for each production cycle.

    • Make on-going machine adjustments to hold tolerance, based on tool wear, machine drift or part variability.

    • Measure parts produced to maintain required quality and maintain required quality recordings.

    • Perform basic machine maintenance, e.g.; oils and lubes, etc.

    • Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the Team Lead or Supervisor.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Lifting up to 50 pounds with no restrictions.

    • Repetitive motion of arms and shoulders for machine operations.

    • Frequent changes from sitting to standing positions.

    • Vision, with or without correction, must be adequate for the required job functions.
