Machinist - 2nd Shift (South Bend, IN)

Job Description - Direct Placement

This is a job shop environment – NOT high-volume production. Candidates will work on a wide range of custom parts and projects, not repetitive line work. This company is family-owned and operated, and is looking to add another person to their machining department!

Pay Range:

• $23 – $28/hr., depending on experience
  **+$2 shift premium for off-shift**

Shifts Available:

• 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Help develop setup tooling and work instructions for new jobs
• Setup and qualify 1st pc on recurring jobs
• Run remainder of order
• Assist with 1st pc inspections for other operators
• Continuous improvement (Quality and Productivity) efforts on repeat jobs
• Troubleshoot machine issues and assist with preventive maintenance efforts
• Learn to run and operate a variety of equipment including 4 and 5-axis machines

Qualifications:

• Proficiency operating CNC machines (required)
• Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation skills (required)
• Familiarity with measuring tools including calipers and micrometers
