    Tesker Manufacturing Corporation – Saukville, WI

    Tesker Manufacturing Corporation is looking for a Machinist – Grinder Support to join our second-shift manufacturing team. This is a unique full-time schedule consisting of three 12-hour days followed by a short Thursday, providing a 3-day weekend every week.

    This position plays an important support role in our thread grinding department. The primary responsibility is performing the finishing operation on thread rolling dies, known as tapering. By completing this operation as dies come off the grinders, this position allows our CNC thread grinding operators to remain focused on grinding while also freeing up the tooling needed for upcoming jobs.

    Previous machine shop experience is preferred. Experience operating a Bridgeport mill and/or engine lathe is particularly valuable. Previous thread grinding experience is not required.

    This position also offers opportunity for growth within our machining operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Operate Bridgeport mills and engine lathes to perform the final tapering operation on workpieces after grinding operations.
    • Remove completed dies from tooling and arbors so they can be returned to the grinding department for upcoming jobs.
    • Provide ongoing machining and setup support to CNC thread grinding operators.
    • Set up and adjust manual machine tools for close-tolerance work.
    • Properly select, prepare, and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
    • Read and work from blueprints, routings, process sheets, and job instructions.
    • Inspect completed work to verify dimensions and quality requirements.
    • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools.
    • Maintain an organized workflow to help keep the grinding department supplied with available tooling.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    Qualifications

    • Previous machine shop experience is preferred.
    • Experience with Bridgeport mills and/or engine lathes is preferred.
    • Previous thread grinding experience is not required.
    • Ability to read blueprints and understand machining dimensions and tolerances.
    • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
    • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize work based on the needs of the grinding department.
    • Dependable and comfortable working a unique second-shift schedule.

    Schedule

    Monday: 11:30 AM–11:30 PM Tuesday: 11:30 AM–11:30 PM Wednesday: 11:30 AM–11:30 PM Thursday: 11:30 AM–3:30 PM

    Friday, Saturday & Sunday off every week.

    This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a consistent schedule and a 3-day weekend every week.

    Compensation

    $24–$29 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.

    Employees are also eligible for a yearly productivity bonus, historically generally $3,000–$5,000.
