Job Summary

We are seeking a Manual boring mill Machinist to join our team! FDC Machine Repair rebuilds/repairs metal forming equipment for a variety of customers in the metal forming industry.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints or job orders and make adjustments to equipment as needed, often with precision tools

Check final products for accuracy, and make adjustments to machines as needed to ensure the best final product

Strong mechanical knowledge

Ability to perform OD & ID machining on multiple types of steel and bronze

Experience with both small and larger materials

Monitoring machine speeds and feed, material rotation, depth cuts

Ability to adjust equipment for out of tolerance. Report any malfunctions with supervisors

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environment

Performs other duties as assigned

Adheres to safe working practices

Qualifications

Previous experience as a manual machinist (we do not house CNC machines)

The ability to read blueprints or job orders and make minor adjustments as needed to fulfill requirements

The ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements

Excellent attention to detail

Strong analytical skills

Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. maximum with assistance. Frequently lift, carry and manipulate up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, kneeling and occasional climbing on 12-foot ladders and scaffolding. Works around fumes, odors and dust in an occasionally high noise level environment with appropriate personal protective equipment.
