This position located in the Atlanta area requires direct communication and involvement with the Operations Manager. You are responsible for completion of work that meets quality standards in a manner that provides cost-effective manufacturing service to the company and the customer. This position is responsible for machining and measuring components as well as maintenance of machines.
This role can be either a day or night shift position
Key Responsibilities
• Setup machines for production components.
• Machine/fabricate standard and special components.
• Continuous inspection of components while in process.
• Complete secondary operations as required.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment while following all safety standards.
• Complete machinery maintenance and repairs as required.
• Responsible for stock of all shop tooling.
• Record notations of necessary up-dates or changes to drawings.
• Assure production schedule and ship dates are met consistently.
• Inform management of potential problems, while participating and incorporating solutions for problems. • Supervise and train fellow employees when necessary
• Key Manual Attends meetings.
• Attends training and industry related seminars.
Experience and Educational Background:
High school or equivalent and/or three years manufacturing experience in related field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
