MADISON SPECS, one of the nation's premier providers of expert, engineering based costsegregation studies, seeks an experienced COST SEGREGATION ENGINEER to join our closeknit NATIONAL COST-SEGREGATION TEAM. MADISON SPECS has an in-house team of tax accountants and engineers, which specialize in analyzing construction contracts and building plans in order to identify assets that qualify for accelerated depreciation.

As the Cost Segregation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing an on-site fixed asset analysis in order to identify all assets that are eligible for accelerated depreciation. You will also review site surveys and blueprints as well as all appropriate background records and relevant financial information, and prepare a full scope engineering report. The position is geared for a candidate with a great work ethic and the ambition to succeed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE COST SEGREGATION ENGINEER: 

Proactively work with clients and staff to ensure deal flows smoothly from start to finish

  Manage and coordinate accelerated tax depreciation studies projects 

Prepare Cost Segregation Analysis and Reports

  Prepare Cost Allocation Studies and Reports 

Prepare benefit estimates for potential projects 

Analyze cost and design, construction data, and drawings to determine appropriate classification of various assets 

Conduct onsite field inspections nationally

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COST SEGREGATION ENGINEER: 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university 

1-3 years of Cost Segregation Engineering experience 

Experience with RS Means Cost Estimator 

Valid Driver's License and means of transportation

  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 

Highly self-motivated
