    Job Description

    We are looking for someone to perform contract project work with a specialization in motion control / robotic systems design and integration. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop firmware for embedded control systems within our electro-mechanical systems
    • Create GUIs and utilities for embedded Linux systems
    • Build communication interfaces for multi-node systems
    • Maintain and document repositories
    • Assist in the development of vehicle systems, subsystems, and control requirements
    • Use tools such as Matlab and Simulink for algorithm development and simulation and software development using C/C++, Python or equivalent that targets general purpose and multi-threaded real-time operating systems such as chibiOS, VxWorks, Xenomai, and real-time Linux
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant fields of study
    • 3+ years experience designing electro-mechanical and robotics systems
    • An understanding of mechanical motions, materials and manufacturing processes
    • Experience with FOC, BLDC, stepper and other closed feedback loop servo control methodologies
    • Expertise in writing C, C++, JavaScript, Python, other scripting language applications for Linux or embedded systems
    • Solid understanding of design patterns, data structures and advanced programming techniques
    • Strong analytical skills and mathematical foundation
    • Desire to learn as well as teach others
    • Understanding of electromechanical and feedback systems
    • Exposure to CAN/CANopen
    • Familiarity with ARM, STM 32, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, NVIDIA Jetson
    • Able to commute into Boston

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Experience with electronics and hardware prototyping as well as working with bare metal microprocessor systems
    • Experience with real-time and multi-threaded systems
    • Experience with finite state machine design and implementation
    • Experience with version code control and code documentation (e.g. git, doxygen)

    BONUS EXPERIENCE 

    • Experience with developing stochastic filters and control systems
    • Experience in designing for manufacture and assembly
    • Experience with Code development in a safety critical, self-compliant industry
