    The Maine Tourism Association (MTA) is currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as the Advertising and Membership Manager. If you are an experienced salesperson with a passion for promoting the best of Maine, networking, building connections, and growing organizations, this could be the perfect position for you!

    The Advertising and Membership Manager reports to the Director of Advertising and Membership and is responsible for selling new memberships and advertising opportunities to businesses in the northern half of the state (Including the tourism regions of Northern MidCoast, Kennebec Valley, Maine Highlands, DownEast & Acadia and Aroostook). This includes developing an ongoing active leads list, assisting in retaining membership dues, membership engagement, print publication sales as well as digital and visitor center marketing opportunities.

    MTA is headquartered in Hallowell, ME. The person chosen for this position will be asked to work in Hallowell 4-5 days per week during the initial training period, then will work 1-3 days in the Hallowell office and travel around the area listed above.

    Job Description:

    The Advertising and Membership Manager will be responsible for the advertising and membership sales initiatives for the northern half of Maine including prospecting, closing, and managing all advertising and membership deliverables. This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Advertising and Membership to meet all sales goals and project deadlines. This position is an integral part of our association’s success and plays a key role in fostering positive, long-term relationships with our members, advertisers, and partners.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Meeting all regional advertising and membership sales goals

    • Identifying and managing all regional advertising assets, including print publications, brochure distribution, digital add-ons, and Visitor Information Center (VIC) digital displays and exhibits

    • Working cross functionally with fellow MTA team members & industry partners

    • Identifying new sales leads and opportunities

    • Working with the Director of Advertising and Membership to meet production deadlines to ensure timely publications and deliverables.

    • Tracking all interactions and sales in the CRM and in Quickbooks.

    • Collecting all advertising sales and membership receivables.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Must have previous sales experience

    • Be able to use technology effectively

    • Have excellent organizational skills

    • Have a passion for Maine and knowledge of the tourism industry

    • Communicate effectively with members and partners

    • Goal driven and excellent customer service

    • Willing to travel to meet with current members and prospects

    • Travel across the state will be required, so candidates should have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
