Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen & Topside Tavern - Freeport, ME

Job Summary:

Part of the Linda Bean’s Perfect family, this specialty 240-seat full service restaurant in the center of downtown Freeport ME is directly across Main Street from the L.L. Bean flagship store. This popular attraction features Maine lobster and all Maine produce from Maine farms, fisheries, and forests. Open year-round, customers can cozy up to firepits outdoors in the cooler months or enjoy dinner at outdoor bistro tables throughout the summer. A 40-seat balcony overlooks the square.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen & Topside Tavern is seeking a hard-working and efficient Prep/Line Cook. You will take direction from the Chef to prepare items on the prep list, follow recipes, and contribute to the success of each meal service. You will work in a polite and professional environment as a team with other cooks, keep the kitchen orderly and clean, and take direction well.

Schedule will vary according to operational needs, but regularly includes evenings, weekends, and holidays and may include some overtime. Flexibility to work when the schedule requires will be very important to this position. The restaurant is open 11am-10pm seven days a week.

Qualifications:

-A can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed. We’re looking for self-starters who take initiative and pride in their work.

-Be a team player who works well with others, takes direction well, and is thoughtful and engaged.

-Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift (8 hours or more.)

-General knowledge of sanitation and general aspects of cooking and food preparation with solid knife skills.

-Eligibility to work in the United States of America

-Availability through the month of November

-Ability to communicate in English both orally and written, and ability to understand verbal directions
