Job Summary:

Part of the Linda Bean’s Perfect family, this cozy and rustic general store is a mainstay of scenic Port Clyde. This community mainstay features excellent small harbor services, dining, and provisioning, with steaming coffee and hot chocolate, a selection of local pastries, cheeses, groceries, fresh vegetables, fruit, hand cut meats, local lobsters and fish, wines, beers and spirits. The deli offers hot meals, pizza, hot breakfast sandwiches, pre-made sandwiches and salads, smoothies and features Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine® Lobster Roll.

The Port Clyde General Store is seeking Cashiers to provide top-notch customer service to all guests in the store. You will greet guests with a smile and check them out when they make purchases. By being patient, helpful, and using your excellent problem solving skills, you’ll make sure they feel welcome and at home. You’ll make sure the store and surrounds are clean and orderly by sweeping, picking up debris, and performing general maintenance tasks.

Schedule will vary according to operational needs, but regularly include weekends and holidays and may include some overtime. Store hours are 7am-5pm seven days a week.

Qualifications:

-Be a team player who works well with others, takes direction well, and is thoughtful and engaged.

-Be friendly, outgoing and welcoming to all guests in the store.

-Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time

-Able to process credit or debit card transactions, operate electronic scanners, cash registers, or other equipment, and to receive and disburse money.

-Eligibility to work in the United States of America

-Follow company uniform policy, including no facial piercings and only one piercing in each ear.

-Ability to communicate in English both orally and written, and ability to understand written and verbal directions.

Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine encompasses offerings of Maine vacation rental cottages and wedding locations, and various businesses in midcoast Maine including two traditional Maine general stores in St. George. Our seven restaurants in Port Clyde, Portland, Freeport, and Ogunquit are known for our lobster rolls, bisque, ravioli and other lobster specialties. It doesn’t get more Maine than this.
