Position Overview

The State of Arizona is seeking an experienced Mainframe Data Conversion Lead to manage the migration of legacy mainframe data (IBM z/OS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, COBOL) into Salesforce using Informatica and SQL Server. This role is critical in ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance during large-scale modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end mainframe data conversion projects (discovery → migration → go-live → hypercare)

Analyze and document mainframe data structures (DB2, VSAM, IMS, COBOL copybooks, flat files)

Design source-to-target mappings and transformation rules for Salesforce migration

Build and optimize ETL pipelines using Informatica (PowerCenter/IICS)

Use SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures) for staging, transformation, and reconciliation

Integrate and load data into Salesforce (Service Cloud, custom objects) using APIs and Data Loader

Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and deduplication

Develop and execute cutover and data validation strategies

Establish data conversion standards, governance, and best practices

Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership

Provide regular status updates on risks, issues, and progress

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in data integration / ETL

5+ years of experience in mainframe data conversion projects

Strong experience with:

IBM Mainframe (z/OS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, COBOL, JCL)

Informatica (IICS / PowerCenter)

SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning)

Salesforce data migration (Data Loader, Bulk API, Salesforce objects)

Expertise in data modeling, transformation, and migration techniques

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)

Experience with MuleSoft

Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud

Experience in large-scale legacy modernization projects
