    Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Migration Engineer to join our team dedicated to the final phase of modernizing client’s legacy applications. The successful candidate will play a critical role in migrating the remaining 10-15% of our core data and COBOL applications from a mainframe environment to the AWS cloud. This is a senior-level position that requires significant hands-on expertise in mainframe technologies and a strong understanding of modern cloud infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Lead the migration of legacy COBOL and DB2 applications to AWS cloud services.

    · Ensure data sets and data structures meet Pitech architecture standards during the migration process.

    · Write and integrate data into the DSVDS (analytic database).

    · Collaborate with the Data Modernization team (Deloitte) who handles data pipelines.

    · Retire legacy system components, including stored procedures, service requests, tables, and batch jobs/files, once migration is complete.

    · Act as a dedicated individual contributor focused on both modernization (approx. 70% initially) and retirement tasks.

    Required Technical Skills (Must-Haves)

    · Mainframe Technologies: COBOL, DB2, SQL

    · Job Control: Strong experience with JCL (Job Control Language)

    · Mainframe Tools: Control-M, Endevor, BFC, Smart TS

Nice-to-Have Technical Skills (AWS - Increasing Focus)

Experience with core AWS services, including:

    · S3

    · Lambda

    · Aurora (for DB2 migration)

    · DynamoDB

    · Glue

    Qualifications

    · Experience: Requiring 8+ years of relevant experience. Experience in mainframe development and migration are highly preferred due to the seniority required for managing complex migration and retirement tasks.

    · Focus: A background in supporting and developing mainframe applications, with a shift toward data modernization.
