    We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Maintenance Apprentice to join our food manufacturing facility. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to develop practical mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced production environment. As a Maintenance Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to ensure machinery and equipment are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, packaging lines, conveyors, and facility systems.
    • Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC issues under the guidance of senior maintenance staff.
    • Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and parts usage.
    • Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and food quality standards set by the company and regulatory bodies.
    • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job learning to build technical knowledge and skills.
    • Assist with installations, equipment overhauls, and upgrades as needed.
    • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Education: High School Diploma and or trade related training.
    • Strong interest in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about tools, equipment, and systems.
    • Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively.
    • Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, climbing).Ability to independently manage daily work assignments and ensure follow-up to completion.
    • Possess good interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
    • Familiarity with multiple operational systems such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatics, Compressors, etc.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This job operates both in an office setting and production facility environment. The production environment may be cold, wet, and/or warm.
    • The position at times requires the use of ladders, perform work on the roof of the building, operate a man lift and/or forklift.
    • Use of standard PPE (hairnets, safety glasses and beard nets, masks and shields).
    • WORK HOURS: This is a full-time position. The demands of the business dictate flexibility in regard to schedule; therefore, Saturday work can be part of the position. An average workday will consist of 8 to 10 hours per day, starting at 5:00 a.m. (start times can be subject to change).
