The Maintenance Assistant supports the property management and maintenance team in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning community. This role focuses on routine upkeep, unit turns, and general maintenance support tasks to ensure all common areas and residential units meet company standards. Responsibilities: • Empty trash and dispose of waste from common areas and residential units • Remove and clear out debris, furniture, and garbage from vacant units during turnovers • Replace furnace filters on a scheduled basis • Replace light bulbs, batteries, and minor fixtures as needed • Clean common areas including hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, and exterior spaces • Assist with apartment unit turns, including basic cleaning and preparation for new residents • Perform minor repairs such as tightening hardware, patching small holes, and basic touch-ups • Maintain exterior grounds including litter pickup, sweeping, and basic landscaping assistance • Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to the maintenance supervisor promptly • Assist with inventory and organization of maintenance supplies and equipment • Support preventative maintenance tasks and inspections • Assist in snow removal, salting, and seasonal property upkeep Qualifications: • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and cleaning practices preferred • Ability to use basic hand tools and equipment • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Compensation: $16 - $20 hourly
