    Are you a highly skilled engineer ready to take the lead in one of Portland's most iconic hotels?
    The DoubleTree by Hilton Portland is seeking an Experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer to supervise our Engineering team and oversee the safe, efficient operation of critical hotel systems. This role is ideal for a technically experienced, hands-on professional with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of building mechanical infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Engineering team and ensure accountability, performance, and safety

    • Manage and maintain complex building systems, including:

      • 4-pipe HVAC systems

      • Chillers and boilers

      • Pneumatic controls

      • Fire pump systems and alarms

    • Troubleshoot and repair critical components including motors, bearings, actuators, and other mechanical systems

    • Operate the hotel's Emergency Management System (EMS) and ensure preparedness for all building emergencies

    • Use and oversee the COBA Engineering Reporting System to log, track, and analyze maintenance performance and compliance

    • Perform and assign preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas

    • Lead root cause analysis on building system failures and implement long-term solutions

    • Ensure team adherence to Hilton brand standards, safety policies, and local regulatory requirements

    • Serve as primary point of contact for engineering vendors and external inspectors

    • Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department

    What We're Looking For

    • Proven experience supervising a hotel or commercial property engineering team

    • Expertise in 4-pipe systems, chillers, boilers, and pneumatics

    • Strong knowledge of fire pumps, HVAC troubleshooting, and EMS systems

    • Ability to change and repair motors, actuators, bearings, and building mechanicals

    • Familiarity with COBA or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

    • Skilled in managing building operations and guiding others in high-stakes environments

    • Strong organizational and communication skills

    • Must be able to lift 100 lbs., climb ladders, and work in a variety of environmental conditions

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
