Job Description
Under the general guidance of the Assistant Director of Engineering, the Maintenance Engineer I supports the day-to-day maintenance and operational integrity of the hotel by performing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment while delivering prompt and professional service aligned with the hotel’s luxury standards.
** YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Perform general/routine building maintenance, including repairs, painting, and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures, bulbs, and electrical wiring to maintain proper lighting and safety standards.
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment, diagnosing issues by listening to unusual sounds and observing operations to prevent breakdowns.
- Repair and replace defective machinery parts to restore full functionality promptly.
- Assist in delivery and installation of new equipment such as TVs, mattresses, and furniture.
- Maintain the physical structure of the hotel, including walls, floors, doors, and windows, ensuring safety and quality.
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment to support uninterrupted food service operations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, accurately documenting all activities in maintenance logs.
- Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests, ensuring high satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Communicate with maintenance supervisors and management regarding projects, repairs, and safety issues.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols and company standards.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Respond quickly to emergencies like fires and power outages to protect guests, staff, and property.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support maintenance and hotel operations.
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.
- We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to, on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
