POSITION TITLE: Maintenance/Housekeeping Associate
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance/Housekeeping
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PRIMARY DUTY
Provide assistance in the care of the community buildings and grounds by performing a variety of skilled and
unskilled maintenance and housekeeping duties, which may include outdoor areas,
lighting, facilities, common areas, hallways, and resident rooms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations

• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building
systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Performs and/or outsources electrical and plumbing work within industry regulations and guidelines.
• Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts, using hand tools, and power tools.
• Performs preparatory work for maintenance activities, including gathering equipment, materials, and
supplies, loading and unloading materials, and laying out materials and equipment for projects.
• Performs a variety of routine physical labor tasks, such as pulling weeds, picking up litter, raking leaves
and debris, planting, replacing light bulbs, and moving furniture as directed.
• Performs cleanup at the end of the day or when the job is completed, including picking up tools, spills,
and debris cleaning work areas and performing touch up work as needed.
• Assists in housekeeping duties as required.
• Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the Maintenance Director.
• Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards.
• Assists families and other visitors as needed.
• Attends in-services and other required meetings.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
