    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Maintenance Manager is an exempt position responsible for overseeing and managing the entire maintenance function, including personnel, systems, procedures, and the condition of all machinery. This role ensures the facility operates efficiently through effective maintenance strategies.

    SUPERVISION

    • Reports to: A senior manager or executive.

    • Supervises: Maintenance Personnel, managing their work assignments, timekeeping, and scheduling. This role also influences the work efforts of supervisors and individual contributors related to the maintenance process or function.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage and supervise the daily work of Maintenance Personnel.

    • Develop, implement, and manage the preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.

    • Determine the necessity for equipment shutdowns, plan accordingly, and estimate downtime.

    • Oversee all repair procedures and assist in diagnosing the extent of equipment problems.

    • Investigate and troubleshoot all plant equipment malfunctions.

    • Identify, locate, and/or communicate the need for replacement parts or suitable substitutes.

    • Plan and prepare detailed work and shutdown schedules.

    • Collaborate with key plant personnel to achieve maintenance goals while fostering positive relationships.

    • Uphold company values through effective training, coaching, and counseling of maintenance staff.

    • Identify and engage external vendors for plant maintenance and capital projects.

    • Ensure strict adherence to all company and government safety rules; report and correct hazardous conditions immediately.

    • Perform all other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience

    • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

    • Five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Strong background and experience in preventative maintenance.

    • Experience in inventory management.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Communication:

      • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents, including electrical diagrams, PLC ladder diagrams, the National Electrical Code (NEC), technical procedures, and government regulations.

      • Ability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

      • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, co-workers, and vendors.

    • Math: Ability to calculate figures, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    • Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in operating a computer and necessary equipment to perform job duties.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Physical Demands:

      • Frequently required to stand, kneel, walk, sit, bend at the waist, and perform repetitive motions with hands, fingers, and arms.

      • Reach with hands and arms; talk and listen.

      • Must have a sense of smell.

      • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

      • Reliable and consistent attendance is required.

    • Work Environment: The employee may be exposed to:

      • Wet and humid conditions.

      • Working near moving mechanical parts.

      • Extreme heat or cold (non-weather related).

      • Fumes or airborne particles.

      • Vibrations and exposure to loud noise.

    $160,000 per year
