    Position Summary

    The Maintenance Engineer/Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, manages preventive maintenance programs, and leads maintenance personnel to support operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintenance & Reliability

    Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

    Monitor equipment performance and reliability to reduce downtime and improve productivity.

    Coordinate troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

    Analyze maintenance data and identify opportunities for process improvements.

    Ensure critical spare parts inventory is maintained.

    Leadership & Team Management

    Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians and contractors.

    Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities based on operational needs.

    Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.

    Project Management

    Lead equipment installation, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.

    Coordinate with production, engineering, and external vendors to support operational objectives.

    Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.

    Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment enhancements.

    Safety & Compliance

    Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety regulations.

    Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.

    Support regulatory audits and maintain maintenance records and documentation.

    Implement corrective actions to address safety and compliance concerns.

    Budget & Inventory Management

    Develop and manage maintenance department budgets.

    Control maintenance expenditures while maintaining service quality and equipment reliability.

    Manage inventory levels for maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.

    Negotiate with vendors and service providers as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

    Equivalent technical experience may be considered.

    Experience

    5+ years of maintenance, engineering, or facilities management experience.

    Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

    Experience in manufacturing, industrial, food processing, pharmaceutical, warehouse, or related environments.

    Skills & Competencies

    Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

    Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

    Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

    Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance software platforms.

    Preferred Certifications

    Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)

    Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM)

    OSHA Safety Training Certifications

    Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to walk production or facility floors for extended periods.

    Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

    Ability to work in industrial or manufacturing environments and respond to emergency maintenance situations.
