Our client, an area manufacturing company, is looking for a maintenance manager! You’ll oversee a multi shift team and ensure that equipment is at optimal utilization and efficiency.

In this role, you’ll be a proactive, hands-on manufacturing leader focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, guiding an experienced team of mechanics and supervisors.

Maintenance Manager-Freeport, IL

Full time, Direct hire

6 am- 4 pm

Onsite, M-F

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a multi-shift maintenance team to support continuous operations
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a CMMS
• Prioritize, assign, and optimize work orders to improve equipment reliability and uptime
• Monitor performance, enforce work standards, and champion a strong safety culture
• Manage maintenance budgets, expenses, and resource planning
• Identify and implement equipment, process, and system improvements
• Maintain facility infrastructure and building systems
• Oversee operation and regulatory compliance of utility and environmental systems
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and facility regulations
• Maintain reliability of critical plant utilities and support systems

Requirements:

• Engineering or technical degree preferred
• 3+ years of maintenance, engineering, or reliability experience in fast-paced industrial settings
• Proven leadership managing multi-shift teams with strong team development skills
• Hands-on, proactive approach with a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
• Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software
• Knowledge of environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Physically able to access equipment and lift moderate loads
• Flexible schedule to support off-hours and weekend operations if needed
