    Maintenance Mechanic

    Location: Monroe, WA Schedule: Monday–Thursday (Fridays as needed / on-call) Job Type: Full-Time (Hourly or Salaried depending on experience)

    About the Role

    Jaspen’s Inc. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our production equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

    This is a critical floor-based role supporting our food manufacturing operations. You’ll be responsible for equipment maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance programs, and continuous improvement projects while working closely with the Plant Manager and Owners.

    What You’ll Do

    Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life

    Ensure all production equipment is ready and safe for daily startup

    Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues

    Lead root cause analysis for recurring equipment problems and implement corrective actions

    Support production, QA, and leadership teams to meet performance, safety, and quality goals

    Train operators on basic troubleshooting, safe equipment handling, and autonomous maintenance

    Track parts inventory, equipment BOMs, and maintenance documentation

    Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication (MIG/TIG preferred)

    Identify improvement projects that increase reliability, efficiency, and safety

    Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and follow all GMP, GSP, and safety standards

    Communicate maintenance status and priorities with Plant Manager and Owners

    Support additional plant needs as assigned

    What We’re Looking For

    High School Diploma or GED required

    Minimum 3 years mechanical or maintenance experience (food manufacturing preferred)

    Experience with preventive maintenance systems and equipment troubleshooting

    MIG/TIG welding and metal fabrication skills strongly preferred

    Ability to read mechanical drawings and maintenance documentation

    Familiarity with GMPs, food safety, and sanitation procedures

    Comfortable using computers for inventory tracking and maintenance logs

    Strong teamwork and communication skills

    Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and safety-focused

    Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset

    Physical Requirements

    Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing regularly

    Lift up to 50 lbs routinely; up to 100 lbs with assistance

    Able to work safely around machinery and food allergens (tree nuts, dairy, eggs, sesame)

    Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
